Mark Wilson is an Oxford graduate who spent his early career in teaching before moving into recruitment over 20 years ago. Beginning with a High Street recruitment agency, Mark gained his Certificate in Professional Recruitment Services (CPRS) with distinction before going on to join a leading global professional recruitment organisation. Here he spent 8 very successful years, including being their top performing consultant in the whole of the UK & Ireland in 2008. Soon after Mark elected to move into Search & Selection with an independent firm where he was their top performing consultant throughout his stay. Mark then founded Willow Resourcing in 2012, building on the experience accumulated throughout his career to date.
When founding Willow Resourcing, Mark’s aim was to provide a service that both candidates and clients could rely on, incorporating all the elements of best practice experienced over the years and eliminating the worst. Clients want a recruitment partner who understands their business, it’s culture and working environment and who identifies individuals who will add value to their organisation and thrive within it. Candidates want a recruiter who will listen to their requirements, provide independent career advice, market them effectively and ensure they have the best chance of interview success. Both want a recruitment partner who communicates effectively, who returns their calls and responds to their emails. And importantly, both want a consistently high level of service every time they engage with that recruiter. Excellence is easier to achieve once; the challenge is to ensure that it is delivered at every time of asking.
Mark has specialised in Risk & Compliance recruitment within the Financial Services and FinTech markets since 2010. Known as The Risk & Compliance Recruiter, he is a very active contributor to Risk & Compliance recruitment discussions, regularly speaking at external events and being one of the most respected commentators in this field on LinkedIn. Mark has developed a very large professional network as a result, giving him access to tens of thousands of prospective candidates and clients here in the UK.
